The psychology of people who torture

People who torture for purely sadistic reasons (like the perpetrators of electronic harassment) get a sense of power and control from it and gain pleasure from seeing the victim suffer. People with this mentality also always have sexual perversions of various kinds, says Sam Vaknin.
